Beth Bedell

Beth Bedell

Beth Bedell's competitive swimming career began in California when she was nine years old. She swam for the Brea City Thunderbirds, at Brea Olinda High and into college at Fullerton College. Her teaching career began at 18 when she realized teaching children to swim was more rewarding than the monotony of life guarding.

In 2003, Beth moved to the Northern Virginia area. She began coaching year-round at the Mason Makos and as a head coach in the NVSL summer league at the Little Rocky Run Stingrays. Beth began attending seminars, talking to other coaches, watching videos and learning everything she could to increase her knowledge of coaching.

In 2007, Beth founded Swim With Beth when she realized that there was a need for quality developmental swim programs targeting young swimmers in the Northern Virginia region. Since its development, SWB has now expanded to serve over 500 swimmers.
